MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE RETURNING TO CEDAR POINT WITH BRAND NEW SHOW FOR 2019 HALLOWEEKENDS
“Our first three HalloWeekends shows formed a loose trilogy, with many common elements tying them together,” explains Gavin Goszka. “Now that the trilogy has reached its conclusion, we wanted to take things in a bit of a new direction.”
“The new show has a little something for everyone,” added Edward Douglas. “I think fans of ‘The Twilight Zone’ series in particular are really going to enjoy it.”
Production is underway, with more details to come. The show will run every weekend from September 13th through October 27th.

MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE LIVE! 2017 OPENS AT CEDAR POINT'S HALLOWEEKENDS
Since the Good Time Theater that previously housed the show was torn down for expansion, the new show is being performed in the 500-seat Jack Aldrich Theater. "I think that every performance space has its own unique character, and we definitely wanted to take full advantage of the more intimate feel of the Aldrich Theater," said Gavin Goszka. "We're able to do some things here performance-wise that simply wouldn't have worked in a larger venue, and the fact that the audience is physically closer to the stage will hopefully pull them into the show in a very powerful and immersive way."
The new show runs multiple times daily every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now through October 29th. Both Gavin and Ed will be making appearances after each show in the Midnight Syndicate merch tent outside the theater (which will be loaded with great stuff including brand new t-shirts, hoodies, and more!).

Zombies!!! Board Game Soundtrack Unleashed! New Preview Tracks Posted.
Midnight Syndicate has released the Zombies!!! Official Board Game Soundtrack. Several tracks from the album (Slight Miscalculation, It Begins, We're Screwed, They're Coming For You) are available to preview. The new release features Midnight Syndicate's signature blend of sound effects and instrumental music set in the modern day, post-zombie apocalypse world of the Zombies!!! board game. "We wanted to design a soundtrack that would not only heighten the Zombies!!! game play experience, but also appeal to all fans of zombies and our friends in the haunted attraction industry," said Edward Douglas. "I think we were able to achieve that."
"Given the character and core elements of the game, I think that both of us immediately felt that this album should focus on having a more modern, aggressive sound. In order to achieve that, we brought in a lot of electronic and percussive instruments and kept the fundamental game scenarios firmly in mind, approaching it more as an actual soundtrack than as a collection of songs built around a particular theme or setting. While there are a few tracks that are more situation or location-specific, most are intended to evoke the general feel and atmosphere of the game world, allowing you to play along without interruption," added Gavin Goszka.
"The soundtrack is a perfect complement to the Zombies!!! board game," added Twilight Creations co-founder, Kerry Breitenstein. "I couldn't be more excited for the Zombies!!! fans to hear it, let alone the rest of the world!"
The album is available at the Midnight Syndicate Store as well as digitally on CDBaby, iTunes, and Amazon.com.

Midnight Syndicate to create soundtrack album for Zombies!!! game.
"I'm a big fan of Zombies!!!," said Edward Douglas. "With the game celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2016, it seemed like the perfect time to undertake this project. We're working closely with the Twilight team to create something that really enhances their players' gaming experience. I think album will also resonate with our fans in the Halloween and haunted house industries."
"Musically, it will be interesting to work in a modern setting," added Gavin Goszka. "Most of our albums have been set in the Victorian and early 20th century, so this will definitely be something different and exciting for us and our fans."
"Words cannot express how excited I am to have Midnight Syndicate doing a soundtrack for Zombies!!!," said Twilight Creations co-founder Kerry Breitenstein. "For many of our players, Midnight Syndicate's music has already been the unofficial soundtrack to their gaming sessions over the years. To have them working with us to create something specifically for our universe is incredible."
The soundtrack is tentatively scheduled for release in September in coordination with the release of the Zombies!!! Ultimate Collector Set and Zombies!!! Ultimate Upgrade Kit.

Midnight Syndicate Live! to launch at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends 2014!
Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows will mark the first live performances for Edward and Gavin as Midnight Syndicate. In November of last year, the band cancelled their Midnight Syndicate Live! Kickstarter campaign citing an "exciting possible opportunity" that they needed to explore that would result in a "win-win" for both the team and fans alike. "HalloWeekends is the perfect place to launch the first Midnight Syndicate Live! experience," said Douglas. "The venue is awesome and will allow us to fully realize the exciting, one-of-a-kind show we first envisioned. We're also really psyched to be working with a legendary amusement park that Gavin and I grew up with." Charles Bradshaw, Corporate V.P. of Entertainment for Cedar Fair, added, "Working with these industry leading music producers on a live show is an exciting prospect. The final product is going to amaze."
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, is the largest amusement park in the world. With an unmatched collection of 72 world-class rides, including 17 thrilling roller coasters, three huge kids' areas, live shows, unique and interesting places to eat and spend the night, a mile-long sandy beach and more, it's easy to see why Cedar Point has consistently been named the "Best Amusement Park in the World."

Midnight Syndicate releases new Carnival Arcane CD featuring several Dead Matter cast members
The Lancaster Rigby Carnival has arrived! Midnight Syndicate's Carnival Arcane is now available at The Midnight Syndicate Store, iTunes, Amazon.com, and your favorite Halloween retailer. To hear the preview track Freakshow, click here. The new disc showcases the band’s spin on the popular dark carnival theme as it takes listeners to the Lancaster-Rigby Carnival, a turn-of-the-century traveling circus with more than a few skeletons in its closet.
The disc features the voiceover talents of Dead Matter cast members Jason Carter, Brian Van Camp, and Dennis Carter, Jr. Also making a cameo are two members of Dead Matter's Art Department - Art Director Todd Malkus (who designed the scarab among other key props) and artist, Amber Foth, who did Jill's artwork including the canvas scarab picture that Jill is working on in the scene with her and Frank.
From the CD insert: The train smoke drifting through the pale moon light signals the arrival of the Lancaster-Rigby Carnival. In a forest clearing, these mesonoxian visitors await your arrival. Stroll along the midway and behold wonders both fantastic and macabre from every corner of the globe. And be sure to ride their one of a kind carousel for an experience you'll never, ever forget.

More kudos for Dead Matter and the soundtrack
Nightmare Revue - "The sort of blending of
Fantasy and Horror in "The Dead Matter" just isn't something you see much... a solid entry for Edward Douglas and Midnight Syndicate. It aims
to do a little bit of everything and is actually able to succeed."
Radio
Casbah - "the musical fiends at Midnight Syndicate have always done it right. And you, my friends are in for a treat. Great god. Take
a deep breath and sit back. Alone playing in the background, the music's scary enough. Just add a vivid imagination, and you'll be set for
quite a while."
MantaRay Pictures
(Terry Wickham) - "very entertaining... It's ambitious for a low-budget film and Writer/Director Edward Douglas pulls it off...
plays like something made from another era of horror because of it's unique qualities..."
Cult Cuts
Magazine (SPOILER ALERT) - "a fun genre film that does something a little different with some old standards... it is the music that
is by far the strongest element... the soundtrack is lush and at times borderline epic. Hearing it certainly makes one think about how great
it would be to see Douglas and his crew helm a period piece (though that might be the Hammer fan girl in me)."

New interview with Edward Douglas posted at Drive-In of the Dead
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2010
The staff at Drive-In of the Dead give The Dead Matter some serious love!
The guys at Drive-In of the Dead are fans of Midnight
Syndicate - but admitted to us they were unsure how it would translate to film. What was their verdict?
Drive-In of the
Dead - "...The clever plot, the gnarly make-up, the perfect score (that had many nods to Midnight Syndicate's past), and a
healthy mix of b-movie charisma make this film a refreshing change from the usual horror schlock that Hollywood churns out. It's
always a thrill to see when a group of filmmakers 'get it.' For me, the dead definitely matter!"
If you haven't stopped by the
Drive-in yet, you're in for a

Benevolent Street gives high praise for Edward Douglas and The Dead Matter
The horror writers at Benevolent Street have just given The Dead Matter
an excellent review citing strong sound, music, production values for an indie film, and story.
Benevolent Street - "...a very interesting
and well blended smoothie of zombie and vampire goodness... the sound is amazing.
The twists, visuals, occassional humor and sound are enough to keep the viewer interested from start to finish... Having already tackled
the musical side of the horror genre... it should be no surprise to see Douglas climbing the ladder in the horror industry as a
director. "The Dead Matter" can be considered a terrific start."
[[Comment from Edward Douglas - "Producer Gary Jones and UPM Phil Garrett deserve a lot of credit for squeezing what we could out of
the budget and putting it up on the screen. Patrick Giraudi of
Virtual Mix handled post sound and delivered the goods in a
huge way."]]

Major props for The Dead Matter from Xomba's Horror Channel
Xomba's Horror Channel - "Douglas has managed to brilliantly craft a horror fest with gore, humor and most importantly, a unique depth that many low-budget films lack entirely... The characters in 'The Dead Matter' are well-rounded, and the movie's fast pace allows it to take the viewer for a spooky ride, throwing in some laughs here and there... (Douglas) does a fine job transforming his creative mind for music into a breeding ground for horrifyingly new ideas to bring to the horror genre's plate."

The Dead Matter gets kudos from Hayes Hudson's award-winning horror blog and B-movie critic/horror writer, Nic Brown
B-Movie Man - "...stands out amid the myriad field of zombie horror. The film mixes in a touch of humor with its gore, but doesn't go over the top looking for laughs... a fusion of the zombie and vampire genres (with) unexpected twists..."

The Dead Matter gets more big thumbs up from major horror website Arrow in the Head
Joblo.com Arrow in the Head - "Now THIS is what you want every single time you see an indie horror flick... a good comic-book esque horror yarn that uses practical effects and feels like a nasty Halloween party... The score is fantastic and atmospheric... a ton of fun, has great blood and guts, some hot lead characters, wonderful scenery-chewing horror actors and a sense of fun about it... Can you tell I'm coming off a bit of a high from watching this film? I really had fun with this movie and think that more people should be watching it. Find this and watch it, what are you waiting for!?"

Shallow Graves reviews The Dead Matter
Shallow Graves - "One of the better indies that I've seen in a long time ...definitely a film that you should say that you have seen. With the tagline of 'Why rule the living when you can control the dead?' Edward Douglas did a few things that I wouldn't have even thought of which were fresh additions to this concept ...with little nuances that would make a serious horror lover smile." Horror News gives two thumbs way up to The Dead Matter
Horror News has just posted a tremendous review of The Dead Matter. NO SPOILERS here...just a lot of good reasons to
check out the movie and a very entertaining read!
Horror News
- "Good old fashioned storytelling here, folks...multiple story arcs and conflict-ridden characters all very well written and all coming to a
believable culmination by the time all's said and done.... It defies every single page of the current Hollyweird rulebook of horror moviemaking by
being neither a remake, a former TV show, nor edited in today's standard quick cut Super Hi-Meth mode - it's an actual story unfolding right before
your very eyes... a modern Hammer film!"

Movie Crypt - "From twisted dream sequences to impressive

FEARnet - "...fast-paced and
full of memorable moments. Midnight Syndicate always set out to provide a spooky good time with their music, with no other pretensions, and their
first venture into filmmaking reflects that same spirit. It all makes for a solid debut, and I'm already looking forward to their next outing."
House of Horrors -
"...an effective, blood filled addition to zombie lore while offering an interesting story twist that keeps you watching till the very end....
The Dead Matter is home grown down and dirty horror made by folks that simply love it, appreciate it and respect it. You can't ask
for more than that... (also) Easily one of the best "special feature" packages that I have seen in a while."
Bastards of Horror -

Exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from Midnight Syndicate's Dark Legacy music video from
The Dead Matter: Cemetery Gates posted to Facebook!
Check out exclusive never-before-seen photos of Midnight Syndicate from their recent music video shoot on
Facebook. While you are there be sure to become friends as there will be a lot
more announcements in the next several weeks including where you'll be able to check out the video!
The video was shot over two days (March 6-7, 2010) on a combination of Digital and Super 8mm film at the old
Phantasy Theatre in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Built in 1917,
the Homestead Theatre (as it was originally called) played films through the 1980's when it switched over to hosting
live concerts like Psychadelic Furs, Peter Murphy and Nine Inch Nails. The building has a long history of hauntings reaching
back into it's early years which made it the perfect location for the shoot. Midnight Syndicate also has a history with the
Phantasy as it has hosted all of Midnight Syndicate's local CD release parties in the adjacent Phantasy and Chamber Night Clubs.
On hand with director David Greathouse were the incredibly talented artists at Precinct 13 Entertainment assisted by Screamline Studios
and a talented group of haunted house actors from the region. Also making appearances in the video were fellow Cleveland music legends
"Schmotz" and Jeff Hatrix of Mushroomhead. Members of the Mushroomhead stage crew were also on hand to orchestrate the grand finale of the video.
